A Ramp for Jan
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek; and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [Matthew 7:7-8]
Jan Hausmann is a widow that lives in Hartsville. She is very involved with her grandchildren, her church, and in the community group “People to People” that seeks to build bridges between socio-economic and racially diverse groups here in Hartsville. (read more about it here: People to People) She is legally blind, and this year has suffered many health issues that force her to use a wheelchair at times.
Jan needed a wheelchair ramp to get into her apartment building…and several good shepherds heard her request.
Norm Miner stood before the Wesley United Methodist Church 10:30 worship service last Sunday morning, January 28th, and in his quiet way asked for donations. Norm received what he requested, and he and some other good shepherds proceeded to build that ramp the first of this week.
Before the snow/sleet/rain fell today, Mrs. Hausmann had her ramp.

When you tell people that you live in the South, some will smugly refer to it as, “The Bible Belt”. When you see stories like the awesome projects completed by Christmas in April, Habitat for Humanity, Disciple NOW, and other great stories like Jan’s new ramp, you have to just be proud. We can tell 'em that in Hartsville, we are on the shiny belt buckle of the "Bible Belt"!

This was fantastic...I wondered what was going on at this home behind Lee's Restaurant, and you have answered my question!
I am going to call you Lois Lane -- so get a Nash Rambler to go with your camera!
Good job!
update
I just edited this post to include a man that was not in the photos... Willard Jacobs... he was part of the crew that built the ramp for Jan, and Bud Gandy helped with the lumber. We are so fortunate to have such great men in our community!
